Café Divine, in the heart of North Beach, is the perfect spot to take in the sights of Washington Square Park while you enjoy a cappuccino, glass of wine or our “heavenly cuisine.” We offer friendly service, a beautiful, airy dining space and excellent café dining.
Café Divine’s vintage Italian décor originates from Caffe Malvina, which occupied our space in the Dante building from 1987 until 2004. From them, we inherited our priceless custom-built Italian bar of maple, mahogany and marble, our brass chandeliers and the pizza ovens where we make our famous pies. We are a great destination for any time of day, for a quick snack, an espresso on our breezy patio or a late-night dinner. Our food is simply prepared with an Italian flair.
Come in for happy hour and enjoy some oven roasted mussels or a charcuterie plate with a half-price glass of wine. Our oven-fired pizzetta make a great light meal, or, for heartier fare, go for the three-course prix fixe dinner. Or stop in for breakfast for our excellent waffles topped with bacon, cheddar and scallions and a cup or two of our heavenly coffee. Any time of day, Café Divine has great food at great prices.
Our chef, David Wees, believes in simplicity and quality – good ideas created with flair at budget friendly prices. We use organic products and local, sustainable ingredients whenever possible, including Torri Family Farms beef, Masami Farms free-range pork and Mary’s chickens.
We support the arts here at Café Divine. Most of our staff pursues a creative interest, including Chef Wees, who, in addition to cooking professionally for over three decades, originally came to San Francisco in the mid-‘80s with his rock band, Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys. We offer rotating gallery space to artists and present a great variety of live music Sunday through Thursday. Join us for food and fun at Café Divine!
